The outbreak of COVID-19 can be stressful for both children and adults. Both may worry about themselves, their families, and their friends becoming ill. Fear and anxiety can be overwhelming and cause strong emotions. Parents, family members, school staff, and other trusted adults can play an important role in helping children make sense of what they hear in a way that is honest, accurate, and minimizes fear and anxiety. It is also important for adults to take care of themselves and manage their stress during this difficult time.
