Please check back often as information may be updated daily.
Over the past week, school staff have been readily preparing to begin distance learning classes, as required by the Governor. We are set to begin distance learning beginning March 30, 2020. The plan’s primary components are as follows:
The Junior Academy (grades 6-8), will be using Google Classroom, Schoology, and Music First as on-line platforms. These tools are what students have used throughout the year and are familiar with accessing. Here is a list of teachers and the tools they will be using. If you do not have Internet access at your home, click here.
Starting March 30, 2020, students will be responsible for opening Google Classroom, Schoology or Music First for each class they would normally attend that day (View A/B day calendar). Students will review expectations for that class and begin working on outlined assignments related to Essential Minnesota Standards. Staff will monitor attendance, which will be taken with evidence of initiating assignments in each class. Teachers will continue to use GoGuardian student device monitoring software, which will also assist with attendance.
Weekly updates are also provided for families, using the following links. It would be helpful to bookmark the link(s) for the grade(s) you wish to view, as they will be the same each week.
Additionally, we are offering parent trainings for both Google Classroom and Schoology:
Please understand that the Distance Learning model is a work in progress, and we ask you to continue to be patient and flexible as we work out some of the challenges. We look forward to continuing to support our families and students in these challenging times.
Note: We will have Spring Break and no classes the week of April 6-10.
