ACADEMICS AT A GLANCE
Duluth Edison Charter Schools has entered its second decade of celebrating
excellence in education for our students, families and community.
We are committed to keeping families engaged in their
children’s education, both at school and in the home. Through
participation in the Schools’ Parent Advisory Council, family
members are further empowered with the necessary tools to work with
their children and participate in shaping parts of the
Schools’ programs and practices.
TEACHING SKILLS CONTINUALLY DEVELOPED
Our teachers have the support of a variety of instructional programs
along with continued professional development which enables
them to keep in practice with the latest in technology, learning
methods and child educational enrichment. We provide our teachers
with the tools to teach effectively and also with the tools that
help students to learn. This applies to all students, from the
most gifted to those who have special needs.
EDUCATION
A longer school day is offered at Duluth Edison Charter Schools.
Within each day students spend more time on the basics. For
example, 90 minutes on reading and 60 minutes on math in the K-5
schools. More time is spent for students to participate in small
groups and to receive individualized instruction. There’s
more time for hands-on science as well as on arts and language.
TUITION-FREE EDUCATION FOR ALL STUDENTS
Many parents and guardians do not realize that Duluth Edison
Charter Schools are tuition-free. Our Schools are free to all
students throughout the community regardless of their school
district and educational needs. We proudly serve children from
kindergarten through 8th grade with three locations including
Kenwood, Washburn and Raleigh.
